About the Island

Canouan Island (pronounced Ka – No – Wan) is located in the heart of the Grenadine Islands 100 miles west of Barbados between St. Lucia to the north and Grenada to the south. It is part of the country St. Vincent and the Grenadines–an independent English-speaking country and part of the British Commonwealth.

The northern half of the island is a private resort with a hotel, restaurants, kids’ club, golf course, tennis courts, beaches, a luxury spa and private villas. The southern half is a lively Caribbean community. There is a large airport with a 5,875-foot lighted runway, which can be accessed by commercial planes or private jets.

Weather in Canouan is warm all year with cooling trade winds. It is accessible from St. Lucia, Barbados or St. Vincent by scheduled airline or private charter.
